The proposal also includes a connection between the new development and Bridgefield Estates via Rosefield Drive. The next public Planning Commission meeting will be held on Thursday December 12 @ 6:30 PM. The location of the meeting is Morris Hall, Pittsfield Township Administration Building, located at 6201 W. Michigan Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108. Please attend this meeting so that the Commission understands the scope of concern regarding the increased traffic this new proposed development will force on Bridgefield Estates.

New Subdivision In The Works

A new subdivision is being planned for the property directly east of Bridgefield Estates.  The proposed development will add approximately 206 homes.  It is also proposed that the new development connect directly to Bridgefield Estates via Rosefield Dr.  The following links offer more details regarding the proposal:
It is also proposed that an entry/exit point be added directly to Morgan Road.  This would be beneficial as traffic controls could then be utilized at the Morgan/Platt intersection as needed.  The Bridgefield Estates Home Owners Association is concerned that a connection between Bridgefield Estates and the proposed new Fieldstone Park development will present some issues to the residents of Bridgefield Estates.
  • Increased traffic through Bridgefield Estates.  This poses safety threats to the numerous children in the subdivision.
  • Cross through traffic which is known to be faster than residential traffic.
  • Increased crime potential due to increased traffic and multiple entry/exit points.
  • Increased risk to pedestrians utilizing the bike path on Platt road.  Traffic controls at the Morgan/Platt intersection could reduce pedestrian risks which would not be available at the Bridgefield Estates entry points.
  • The left turn lane onto Rosefield would be inadequate to accommodate the increased traffic posing risks on Platt road.
  • Homes on Rosefield and Bridgefield Drive would suffer from increased traffic with owners attempting to navigate in/out of residences.
