Greetings and Happy New Year to each of you, we are beginning the new year with the push to get all of our public safety watch participants signed up to received the Nixle notices -Trusted neighborhood news & information sent to

your mobile phone & email, directly from your local police department. This new program is replacing our current EPublic Safety watch notification that we’ve had in place for many years.

This new system will give you control of how you’d like to receive the notices and as email addresses/cellular numbers change residents can make the updates to continue to receive notices.

You can access the site by going to http://www.nixle.com/ and sign in at the top of the page under “ sign up now it’s simple and quick:” to register. Please post the Nixle information at Homeowners Associations websites and pass on to others this information and the upcoming event.

Homeowner’s Association Officers update for 2010: All homeowner associations with new officers that would like to have changes/updates to our contacts for your association please send me an email with the new names and email addresses.

Safety’ Net: Tech Tips for Parenting in the Digital Age

Thursday, January 21, 6PM -8PM at Pittsfield Township Hall, 6201 W. Michigan Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48108

The Washtenaw Area Council for Children, in partnership with the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety, will be hosting an Internet Safety event to discuss topics relating to parenting in the digital age. The Washtenaw Area Council for Children is the child abuse and neglect prevention agency serving Washtenaw County. The event takes place January 21, 6PM -8PM at Pittsfield Township Hall, and is being offered to raise awareness in our community about why Internet Safety is a concern in Washtenaw County and to allow discussion about how parents can communicate with their children about Internet use and safely. This event is free and open to the community.
